As organisations grow, building stronger teams becomes just as important as expanding markets.
For LABORIA, this means ensuring that our people understand the customers we serve, the market in which we operate and the role each person plays in delivering a consistent experience across the business.
This thinking shaped the LABORIA 2026 Bootcamp and Team Bonding Experience, which brought members of our team together for a period of learning, strategic conversations, collaboration and connection.
Built around the theme “Winning the Market Before Winning the Sale: Understanding the Market We Are Trying to Win,” the Bootcamp focused on a simple but important principle: sustainable commercial growth begins with understanding the market.

Understanding the Market We Want to Win
The diagnostics industry continues to evolve, influenced by changing customer expectations, technological advancement, competition and the growing demand for reliable healthcare solutions.
For businesses operating within this environment, product knowledge alone is not enough.
Understanding why customers buy, what influences supplier selection, where new opportunities are emerging and what drives customer retention is equally important.
Throughout the Bootcamp, conversations explored market intelligence, customer and account intelligence, competitive awareness, business development and customer experience.
These sessions encouraged the team to look beyond individual transactions and consider the wider relationships, market dynamics and customer needs that contribute to sustainable business growth.

Learning From Industry and Business Perspectives
The Bootcamp brought together insights from different areas of expertise.
The team received industry perspectives from Ozelle GmbH, including contributions from Elijah Ehika Nwadiokwu, Country General Manager, Nigeria-Ghana, providing an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the diagnostics market and its evolving opportunities.
A practical Zoho walkthrough led by Mr Theophilus also explored how connected business systems can improve collaboration, visibility and operational efficiency.
In another session, Oiza Shola, Customer Experience Manager, examined the relationship between Customer Experience and Business Development, reinforcing the importance of the customer journey beyond the point of sale.
Together, the sessions highlighted an important principle: delivering value to customers is not the responsibility of one department. It is the result of coordinated effort across the organisation.

Strengthening Connections Beyond the Workplace
Learning was only one part of the experience.
The team subsequently moved to UPBEAT Lekki for a series of team bonding activities designed to encourage collaboration, communication and stronger interpersonal relationships.
Through outdoor and indoor activities, colleagues interacted beyond their usual roles and responsibilities, competed in teams and supported one another through different challenges.
For an organisation with team members working across different locations and functions, creating opportunities for face-to-face interaction is particularly valuable.
The activities provided room for colleagues to understand one another better, strengthen existing relationships and build new ones.

Celebrating LABORIA at Two
The experience also provided an opportunity to mark another important milestone: LABORIA’s second anniversary.
Two years represent more than the passage of time. They represent the customers who have trusted us, the partnerships we have developed, the challenges we have navigated and the people whose work continues to move the organisation forward.
As part of the celebration, team members were recognised across several categories, including Staff of the Year, Sales Person of the Year, Team Player Award, Rising Star Award and Field Engineer of the Year.
Dennis Ogunniyi was recognised as Staff of the Year, alongside colleagues who received awards in other categories.
The recognition reflected an important part of LABORIA’s culture: acknowledging the people whose commitment, professionalism and contributions support the organisation’s progress.
The anniversary celebration concluded with the cutting of the LABORIA at Two cake, a shared meal and time for colleagues to connect and capture memories from the experience.

Taking the Lessons Forward
The real value of a Bootcamp is not measured by what happens in the room. It is measured by what changes afterwards.
For LABORIA, the experience provided an opportunity to reflect on how we understand our market, engage our customers, collaborate internally and prepare for the next stage of growth.
As we move forward, we remain committed to strengthening the knowledge, systems, partnerships and people required to serve laboratories and healthcare facilities more effectively.
The LABORIA 2026 Bootcamp and Team Bonding Experience may have brought us together for a few days, but its most important outcomes are the lessons, relationships and shared sense of purpose we take back into our work.
As we begin another year of the LABORIA journey, our focus remains clear: to keep learning, keep improving and continue building an organisation capable of delivering greater value to the healthcare and diagnostics community.
LABORIA. More than Labs.
